Building a workplace that values people: inside Newhaul's Family Day

Over 100 of our team and their families came together on 8 November to enjoy Newhaul's annual Family Day. With games, activities, food and laughter, it was more than a social gathering - it was a reflection of our values and our commitment to building a workplace where people feel valued, supported and connected.

Putting people first

Newhaul's Family Day has become an anticipated event in our employees' calendars as an opportunity to connect with one another outside of work and bring together our loved ones. Held onsite at our Roads Depot, the day brought our team together with an energetic and welcoming atmosphere.

For the kids, the fun ranged from inflatable water slides and bounce house to the highlight of the day - truck rides in our prime movers and professional coaching from local basketball team, the Geraldton Buccaneers from the NBL1, who set up a hoop.

All the activities were designed to encourage interaction across teams and generations, with plenty of space to enjoy time together outside of work.

Other activities included judging our employee Photography Competition, face painting, garden games and enjoying the different food stalls.

Guests enjoyed soft serve ice cream, coffee and nibbles, and a sausage sizzle expertly cooked and served by The Rotary Club of Greater Geraldton.

The day's success was made possible by the dedication of our internal team. From planning the logistics and sourcing prizes to creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere, their efforts ensured the day ran smoothly and left a lasting impression.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our 2025 Family Day a success - from planning and setup to execution and pack down. To all our Newhaul team members and their families who joined us for a day of fun and connection, we’re proud to celebrate what makes our culture special: putting people first and making a positive difference in our community.

Plus - a special shoutout goes to our photography competition winner, whose sunset snap of our vehicle was voted the favourite:
